eProtein System – Nuclera 

Nuclera’s eProtein Discovery™ system is a benchtop platform using digital microfluidics, cell-free synthesis, and AI to rapidly design, express, purify, and characterize proteins, aiming to get scientists from DNA to assay-ready proteins in under 48 hours. It automates screening of various protein designs (constructs) and conditions (blends) to quickly find soluble, functional proteins and membrane proteins for drug discovery and research.

JWD supported Nuclera with the design of the manufactured solution, specifically the outer cabinet, custom LCD and bezel and the hardware integration. JWD also had input on the sliding tray mechanism, the I/O interface and addition of mixing components to the side face of the cabinet.
