AdderLink Infinity 2000 – Adder Technology
In 2008 JWD began supporting the mechanical and industrial design activity of Adder Technology, a global British company specializing in high-performance connectivity solutions, particularly IP KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) systems, used for remote control and management of IT systems in mission-critical environments. They design and manufacture KVM switches, extenders, and remote management tools, allowing users to access and control computers from anywhere, ensuring reliability and flexibility for demanding operations.
This page exhibits one such device I designed for Adder – the AdderLink Infinity 2000 series, which is a high-performance digital KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) extension and matrix system that uses standard IP networks (Ethernet/Fiber) to relocate computer hardware, providing remote access with pixel-perfect video and USB control over long distances, supporting dual monitors and various video standards like DVI or HDMI. The product enclosure comprises a folded sheet metal fabrication for the base and lid and die-cast parts for the front panel and internal heat management.
Deliverables: Product concept, 3D CAD part design, design for manufacture, product labelling and production support
